Itinerary for the Day

You will get picked up directly from Darjeeling early in the morning to reach Manebhanjang. The government registered and trained guide will come along for the pick-up to greet you first thing and accompany you for the remainder of the day. Upon reaching Manebhanjang you will register at the border control. Therefore original passports (or alternatively official id documentation for Indian citizens) are mandatory. Following a good breakfast you will take a short ride to Dhotrey and begin the ascent up through rhododendron forests to reach Tumling. This is a famous spot to view the some of the world’s highest peaks including Mt. Everest and the mighty Mt. Kanchenjunga. On a clear day the views can still be extraordinary by early afternoon. At a family run guesthouse you will get a hearty lunch of local dishes. The descent will take you through quaint Buddhist villages and the outskirts of the Singalila National Park. You will visit a Buddhist Monastery and weave through many off road paths where you can immerse yourself in the peaceful environment and the blossoming flora and fauna. You will reach Manebhanjang in the evening and the jeep will be waiting to take you on the 1.5hr drive back to Darjeeling.
