Tibet

Tibet, located on the Tibetan plateau, is the highest region of the whole world and hence commonly referred to as ‘the Roof the World”.  Since 1965 this remote and beautiful country has been governed as an autonomous region of China. Against this political backdrop this is a country that is likely to leave you in awe with its serene people and unforgettable landscape.
Tibet is synonymous with devout religious practices namely Tibetan Buddhism and Bon.  Religion plays an extremely important role and has a strong influence over all aspects of life.  The history of religion is evident in various customs and rituals and also from the vast array of Buddhist monasteries dotted throughout the land.
